Cleanliness is Good
Many people are familiar with the saying “Cleanliness is Next To Godliness“. Disregarding religion, the gist of the phrase is: It’s good to be clean. This is true for personal hygiene, your home, and your business. Yes, that’s right, a clean business is important. The only question is what do we mean by “clean”? Maybe it’s your baseboards or your front window. Perhaps you are thinking of your accounting systems being in good order. It could well mean the way you run your business. Whichever applies to your situation, it should still be a priority for your success as cleanliness really can equal profits
Fall (spring) cleaning
It really matters little whether you focus on cleaning your business in the spring, the fall or only once every year. The point is to take a deep look at your operation from top to bottom on a regular basis. Just as you open the windows, dust and clean out the fridge, you can do just that with your operation at work. As we mentioned before, a cleaning of your business should be an essential tool in your kit. Whether that is actual physical cleaning or a review of all your business practices, taking stock of where you are and where you need to go is important.
Good Old Elbow Grease
There is another phrase from the past: Elbow Grease. In essence, it means Hard Work. At The Beacon Center, we are dedicated to a clean business. In fact, our Yelp reviews are full of comments from customers about how well maintained and clean our facility is. We also carry that ethic into every other part of our business. Our advice to fellow entrepreneurs is to start there. Make sure your windows are clean, your floors are swept and apply a new coat of paint to your place. Just keeping a fresh, clean environment for your staff and customers will bring repeat business, happier employees and hopefully a fatter bottom line.
