Your Direct Sales Image Can Mean Everything

“In the world of direct sales, many companies along with their sales forces have gotten a bad reputation. I believe this is due, in part, to lack of training and professionalism within our great industry. By utilizing The Beacon Center, we at Success By Health have been able to establish a strong level of professionalism in the early stages of our expansion here in the Las Vegas market. We work very hard to train and mentor our affiliates and help them establish rapid success as they build their home-based business. Becky has been phenomenal to work with, and the venue is perfect for what we need.” – Dr. Tyler Sherfield (Founding Member, Global Ambassador)
Raise your hand if you have heard of Tupperware or Amway? Ok, so you too have a bunch of containers with no lids and enough laundry soap to last til retirement. Yes, most everyone has heard of them. They are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to MLM companies. The sheer variety of offerings is immense. From coffee to financial products, if you want it there is probably a Multi-Level Marketing company ready to serve you. Often you will find there are a variety of Direct Sales selling the same items, each with a different twist. No doubt about it, the world of MLM sales is a diverse one.
Does Your Direct Sales Company Stand Out?
Many companies do a tremendous job selling their image. After all, if no one knows who you are or what you sell, sales are much harder to come by. Much effort is put into spreading the word about your great products. Slick fliers, frequent catalogs, samples, and parties are all part of the tool bag for promoting sales and recruiting. The image your company and YOU project will determine how successful you both are. What many managers, trainers, and salespeople neglect to focus on is their OWN image. Do you project a professional demeanor and image? Do you adhere to standard business principles or do you operate “off the cuff”? Anyone who has been involved in Direct Sales knows the industry is often viewed suspiciously. How, when and where you conduct business can make all the difference in the world.
The “How” is often dictated by the company guidelines. Even better is the Manager who trains their line level in the proper way to sell your product. The “When” is also sensitive as family and friends are usually your first prospective customers. Constantly talking about “your new opportunity” can actually damage your sales image and that of the company. The “Where” is likely the one area you can control. Even if your company is based around home parties or presentations, you must still consider the location. Is the party home or location a good environment? Are there pets and children to distract your potential customers? Is there room for all the potential guests? Is the area safe and centrally located? What about guest parking? All of these should be on your list of concerns whether you are selling, training or just presenting your product.
